In Depth Review of the La-Z-Boy Bellamy

Overall Rating: 4.4 | See Price on Amazon

The La-Z-Boy Bellamy is a formidable and less expensive alternative to the La-Z-Boy Hyland Executive. It boasts many of the same features and has a deep brown, mocha color. Plus the design is slightly different than the Hyland Executive – it does however lack one key feature: The Pivoting AIR Lumbar support integrated technology. Other than that, the Bellamy comes fitted with the features that you would expect from the La-Z-Boy brand and is quite frankly the equivalent of setting up a recliner as an office chair. With standard qualities like ComfortCore Plus and Memory Foam technology coupled with an integrated plush headrest, you’ll never want to stand up from this chair.

One of our favorite features of all La-Z-Boy office chairs is the executive look and feel they have. The Bellamy holds up to our standards, although we do prefer the look and feel of some of their other models as compared to this one. Nonetheless, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, the Bellamy is an excellent choice recommended by our team.

The deep oak wood finish screams out, “whoever is sitting in this chair means business. Oh and they’re probably comfortable as heck, too.” All jokes aside, the La-Z-Boy Bellamy will stand the test of time, especially if you plan on sitting 7-10 hours a day.

Waterfall Design For Leg Circulation

The La-Z-Boy Bellamy has a waterfall seat edge design to promote healthy blood flow and circulation while sitting. Do you know the reason why some people feel fatigued after a few consecutive hours of sitting? One reason is a lack of circulation. A lot of your blood accumulates in or around your rump when sitting for a long period of time. Consequently, this waterfall edge technology is meant to prevent that from happening. It will help improve circulation and will likely result in less fatigue throughout the day.

Memory Foam and ComfortCore Plus Technology

Here’s one of the key reasons why La-Z-Boy office chairs are so darn comfortable: the ComfortCore Plus with Memory Foam technology. The unique foam padding is intelligently placed throughout the chair to give you the most outstanding sitting experience possible. Consequently, this seating technology ensures the promotion of your posture with durable and ergonomic design. The Bellamy will help alleviate the common back pain derived from prolonged periods of sitting. On top of the ComfortCore Plus and Memory Foam feature, the Bellamy has an integrated headrest and lumbar support system.

The Bellamy Design and Style

While the Bellamy gives off the executive feel and has a stylish, deep brown color, it’s not our favorite. That being said, it’s still an excellent La-Z-Boy office chair and if you prefer this style over others, go for it. While it’s not our style preference, it does have the rich wood finished arms and base and it’s fitted with high quality leather. Plus, it’s got an ergonomic design that supports great posture – that’s what really matters when it comes down to purchasing an office chair.

Although the Bellamy wouldn’t be our first La-Z-Boy office chair choice, it is still an overall solid chair our team recommends. In conclusion, here are the pros and cons of the La-Z-Boy Bellamy:

  • Adjustable ergonomic settings: tilt and height
  • ComfortCore technology paired with Memory Foam for maximum comfort
  • Stylish Mocha brown coffee color
  • Waterfall seat edge promoting circulation
  • 250 lb weight capacity
  • 10 year manufacturer warranty

  • Lacks Pivoting AIR Lumbar technology that other La-Z-Boy office chairs have
  • Wood finish has been known to chip from time to time
  • Only comes in one color
  • Doesn’t come assembled – however it’s fairly easy to put together. You can also order professional assembly via Amazon in most cases for a fee
